THE GREAT WALL OF TRUMP

Increasing agreement with TRUMP on building the Great Wall.

Before the United States presidential inauguration ceremony, Donald TRUMP declared he plans to build and reinforce the Great Wall between the frontier of the US and Mexico which measures about 1600 km. Now he is in power, and he is able to carry out this project. Someone calls it ‘the Great Wall of Trump’.

The main reason why he decided to build the Big Wall is because he thinks that the Mexicans have grabbed the jobs which should belong to the Americans. Due to massive immigration in the US this has already threatened the homeland security.

 

Nevertheless, Trump is not the first person who wants to build the wall. Firstly, there was a fence measuring about 1000 km long, built when BUSH was president of the US in 2005 to prevent illegal immigrates from entering the country. Secondly, let us look at the other side of the earth. In China, the Great Wall was to protect the Chinese states and empires against the raids and invasions of the various nomadic groups of the Eurasian Steppe. Thirdly, when we look back to the origin of democracy, in Europe most people think  it is impossible to find such a thing here, but unfortunately there really exists some walls in Ceuta and Melilla between Spain and Morocco. They aim to prevent the illegal immigration from the frontier into the European area and they are sometimes in conflict with each other.

After his first proclamation of this idea, he has caught everyone’s eye. People think he is an unprecedented absurd president of the United States, because this country, as we know, is famous for it’s liberty and equality. But the President’s Wall speech can be considered as a form of discrimination. Even if a part of US citizens is against this project, he still promised to complete it after his inauguration to protect this country. Not only do Americans not agree with this, but also in Europe, particularly European leaders who have declared that ethical protectionism is not able to function nowadays, and that globalization is the trend all over the world.

On the other hand, there are many citizens who choose to support their president. For some American blue collar workers, the illegal immigrates have stolen their jobs because they accept lower wages. Moreover, more and more Americans are concerned that the illegal immigrante problem also leads to crimes such as robbery, violation and illegal drugs. Just as the President of the United States said, some countries, especially Mexico, send many people with bad behaviors to their country and those immigrantes are likely to commit crime. That is the reason why he plans to build and reinforce the Great Wall between the frontier of the US and Mexico, so as to help protect the homeland.

Nowadays, there are many successive wars in certain areas, so we cannot avoid the emergence of refugees, but how should we handle this tough problem is still a big challenge all over the world.
